World famous Petra 10 Rupees Doctor passes away
A humanitarian doctor, Dr. Rathinam Pillai, who had been providing treatment for just Rs. 10 in Srinivasapuram area of Pattukottai district for the past 55 years, passed away due to old age. He was 96
The people of Thanjavur area are in mourning over his death.
His excellent medical service was very popular in that area. He started his medical service with a fee of Rs. 2.
Born in 1929, Rathinam Pillai started his medical work in 1959. He started his medical work with a fee of only Rs. 2. He has seen more than 65,000 healthy deliveries.
Moreover, no matter how complicated the delivery, he is so skilled that he sees it as a healthy one.
He is survived by his wife, Rajalakshmi, a son and 2 daughters.
He also gave 83 jewels to the government, which were collected for the daughters of the common people who were born in 5 years and asked the government to help them when the financial burden of the Indo-China war came to the central government.
He also did not buy from the shopkeepers living in his area during the Corona period.
His death took place on 07 June 29025 in Kalamaran. His last event will be held tomorrow, Sunday at 11 am in his area, Srinivasapuram.
