A 4.5 magnitude earthquake struck Bago region in Myanmar at 3.45AM IST Indian time this morning. Although there was panic among the public, there were no casualties.
Students studying in schools in Naypyidaw were evacuated as a precaution and schools resumed after the situation stabilized.

The earthquake occurred 18 kilometers west of Pyay city at a depth of 77 kilometers.
Before this, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake had occurred on March 28, 2025, which may have been an aftershock, according to the Myanmar Earthquake Observatory,
It has been reported that there have been 187 earthquakes in the last two months alone.
The military government in Myanmar has decided to suspend the protest until June 30.
