Madurai High Court Orders ₹25 Lakh Relief in Thirupuvanam Ajithkumar Custodial Death Case
The Tamil Nadu government has directed the family of Thiruphuvanam Ajithkumar to pay a temporary compensation of Rs 25 lakh as compensation.

What happened to Ajithkumar:
On June 27, Nikita and her friends came to the Vadabhadrakaliamman temple in Thiruphuvanam, Sivaganga district, to pay their respects.
Since there was paid parking in that area, she had given her car key to a guard named Ajithkumar, who was working as a guard at the temple, to park her car. Ajithkumar said that he did not know how to drive and asked someone to park his car.
It seems that Ajith Kumar had given it to a nearby auto rickshaw driver and asked him to park the car. He said that after some time, he recovered the car key and gave it back to Nikita.
Since he could not walk, he asked his father to take his mother in a trolley. Ajith Kumar asked for Rs. 2000 to take her and Nikita said that she would give him Rs. 500. An argument broke out between the two.
After some time, Nikita said that she had kept 76 grams of jewelry in the car for scanning her mother-in-law and that the jewelry is now missing.
After informing the police officers of the Thiruphuvanam area about this, the Special Force police officers questioned Ajith Kumar without registering any FIR or filing any charge sheet.
During the interrogation, Ajith Kumar died due to severe beating by the Special Forces. On the 28th, the police officers said that they took Ajith Kumar for interrogation and that Ajith Kumar had a seizure and died on the way to the hospital.
During the investigation, the Special Forces police took Ajith Kumar without uniform and attacked him with a plastic pipe in a nearby cowshed, and a person who had gone to the toilet in that area has shared a video of the police attacking him.
They also said that Ajith Kumar was attacked all night and that screams were heard in the area all night. Following this, on July 1, the Madurai Deputy High Court branch judge came directly and conducted an investigation. At the end of the investigation, a case was filed.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Police Minister M K Stalin announced that he would abolish all special forces teams in Tamil Nadu and temporarily removed the SP of that area.
The wives of those police officers have said that someone gave their husbands an order and their husbands only implemented that order.
The question of who gave that order is on everyone’s mind.
Following this, MK Stalin apologized and on behalf of the Tamil Nadu government, Ajith Kumar’s younger brother Naveen Kumar was given a government job in the Aavin company.
Following this, in the case, the Madurai High Court judge of the Madras High Court branch ordered the Tamil Nadu government to provide Rs 25 lakh as interim relief to the affected family.
