Its length is 1,315 meters and its height is 359 meters, which is 35 meters higher than the cable tower. Its total cost is reported to be 46,000 crores. It is designed to last for 120 years against seismic and weather resistance.

This railway bridge is named Chenab Railway Bridge because it is located on the Chenab River and is used to cross the Chenab River.

This railway line connects Udampur and Baramulla via Srinagar in the Jammu and Kashmir region.

Its length is 1,315 meters and its height is 359 meters, which is 35 meters higher than the Cable Car and 287 meters higher than the Qutub Minar. This railway bridge is a single-span arch bridge designed to withstand earthquakes and 266 km / h winds. The length of this bridge alone is 467 meters.

This bridge will reduce the travel time from KATRA to Srinagar to 3 hours.

This railway project is a major component of the Udhampur Srinagar Paramul Railway Project (USBRL). The success of this project is a major achievement in the development of Indian engineering.

The trains running on this railway line are electric trains and all the trains including the Vande Bharat Express have been replaced by diesel locomotives to protect the environment. This project is converting many railway tracks in this area into electric tracks.

Infrastructure Development in Jammu and Kashmir Railway bridge construction begins

The Chenab Rail Bridge Plan The Udhampur Srinagar Paramul project was planned for this project in the 1990s. The foundation of this project began to be laid in 2004. In 2008, the project was stopped due to forest, mountain safety and technical issues.

The project was restarted in 2010 with new safety measures, and the Ekkku Curve project was completed in 2021.

All civil works were completed in 2024.
