First, let’s look at what Ekadashi is, what other days are fasted, and what is special about Ekadashi days.
Ekadashi is an important day according to Hindu religion. It is said to be the day when fasting is observed for Vishnu Bhavan.
Ekadashi is the 11th day after the end of New Moon or full moon, which comes twice in every religion. The Ekadashi that comes after New Moon and comes after the full moon is called Shukla Paksha Ekadashi, and the Ekadashi that comes after the full moon is called Theipirai Ekadashi, i.e. Krishna Paksha Ekadashi. It is believed that devotees of Vishnu who observe the fast on these days can receive the full blessings of the Lord Vishnu Bhagvan.
Among the Ekadashi days, 3 Ekadashis are considered very special.
Vaikunta Ekadashi
The Ekadashi that falls on the waxing moon in the month of Margazhi is called Vaikunta Ekadashi. It is believed that if you fast on this day, you will get a place in Vaikunta.
Kaisika Ekadashi
The Ekadashi that falls on the waxing moon in the month of Karthigai is called Kaisika Ekadashi.
Varuthani Ekadashi
The Ekadashi that falls on the waxing moon in the month of Panduni is called Varuthani Ekadashi.
Ekadashi fasting rules
For devotees of Vishnu, the Ekadashi fast is observed for three days. That is, they only eat food in the afternoon on the first day of Ekadashi. Then the next morning, when they know that there is no food in their stomach, they start the fast, and then the day after Ekadashi, they finish the fast after sunrise and eat food.
Ekadashi vrat method
Devotees observe the fast without water according to their physical strength, such as fasting only with water, fasting only with fruits, fasting only with milk,
